Our Adventure in New York City

We recently enjoyed a three day stay in NYC. The weather was fantastic (high 70’s) and sunny. We stayed at the Marriott East Side on Lexington. It was the perfect, central spot for our trip. Our first night in the city was spent at Yankee’s Stadium thanks to a kind friend who gave us a gift certificate for our wedding.

Have you ever been to the Highline? I was so excited to visit this spot. It’s old rail lines that have been converted to a very trendy park and recreation site. They had several places to grab some gelato, a hot dog or an expresso. Modern seating surrounds the area, making it a great spot to sit and enjoy overlooking the busy NY life.

We really enjoyed visiting the 9/11 memorial. It was tastefully done and really honored those who lost their lives. Very impressive.

And before catching our bus back home, we stopped off to visit the Flat Iron building.
If you plan to make a trip to NYC, I’d highly recommend using Tripper Bus. We caught it in Bethesda, MD and it was only $25 each way. Saved us a load of money (vs. the train). It was really clean and the drivers were nice. Great experience overall!
